- Neurological examination tool for diabetics. Serves to investigate the sensitivity in the feet and legs. Incl. Temperature test for control of temperature perception in diabetic. A reduced sensation of touch pressure on the feet can be a first signal for a diabetic nerve disease. For this purpose, the test with the monofilament is a measurement method that you can carry out yourself with little effort.
- Place the monofilament on the sole of the foot until the thread bends slightly. Make sure that only a cornea-free area is tested. If the patient does not trace the monofilament on the sole of the foot, a doctor should be consulted.
